1993 National Planning Meeting

The 1993 National Planning Meeting primary objectives were to plan the 1994 NOAC to be held at Purdue University and to elect the national officers. Scott Beckett of Nebagamon Lodge, Las Vegas, Nevada was elected National Chief. Kyle Tanner from Inali Lodge, Knoxville, Illinois was elected National Vice Chief. Region Chiefs elected were Kyle Brown – Central Region, Rob Berner – Southern Region, Jim Lewis – Western Region and Ryan “Zieak” McFarland – Northeast Region.

1994 National Planning Meeting

The 1994 National Planning Meeting called ”Assembly of Chiefs,” was held in West Lake, Texas. Their job was to plan national activities for the “Year of Service,” to plan the OA Philmont Training Retreat and to elect national officers.

1990 National Planning Meeting

In 1990 the National Planning Meeting was called the “Assembly of Chiefs”. The theme was “Focus ‘91”. Instead of planning a NOAC, this meeting would be to plan the featured 1991 program, “The Year of the Lodge”.

1988 - National Planning Meeting

The National Planning Meeting had become an annual end of year meeting between the holidays. Besides National officer elections, the 1989 50th anniversary of Philmont Trek was on the agenda. Jack Stephens of Chee Dodge Lodge, Flagstaff, Arizona was elected National Chief. Wade Herbranson, Tonkawampus Lodge, Maple Grove, Minnesota was elected National Vice Chief.

1989 National Planning Meeting

With the 75th Anniversary NOAC on the horizon, the Section Chiefs met for the National Planning Meeting in Dallas, Texas. John Meckley of Woapeu Sisilija Lodge, Milton, Pennsylvania was elected National Chief and Tony Steinhardt of Nischa Chuppecat Lodge, Bloomington, Indiana National Vice Chief. Both John and Tony had distinguished themselves serving as Philmont Trek Vice Chiefs earlier in the year.

1987 National Planning Meeting

The Section Chiefs gathered together in the Dallas Area for the National Planning Meeting. Starting with this meeting, the National Planning Meeting would be an annual affair and all national and regional officers would serve one-year terms. National officers had served one-year terms in the early days of the Grand Lodge from 1921- 1926, but those were adult positions and only distantly related to the youth leadership positions. 

1984 National Planning Meeting

Although it had been two years since the last National Planning Meeting and officer elections, there was no NOAC scheduled for 1985 to avoid conflict with the BSA 75th Anniversary Jamboree. It had been decided not to hold NOACs in National Jamboree years so that Arrowmen, including the National OA Committee, could concentrate on their council and jamboree responsibilities.

1985 National Planning Meeting

The Section Chiefs and National OA Committee again met in Dallas, Texas for the National Planning Meeting to plan the 1986 NOAC scheduled for Central Michigan University. Dave Erb of Quanopin Lodge, Leominster, Massachusetts was elected National Chief. Cary Roberts from Kotso Lodge, Abilene, Texas was elected National Vice Chief.

1980 National Planning Meeting

The 1980 National Planning Meeting was held at the end of the year in Austin, Texas, home of the University of Texas and scheduled site for the 1981 NOAC. The majority of the meeting was consumed with preparations for the upcoming NOAC. Brad Starr of Klahican Lodge, Wilmington, North Carolina was elected National Chief. Kevin Moll of Ha-Kin-Skay-A-Ki Lodge, Colorado Springs, Colorado was elected National Vice Chief.

1978 National Planning Meeting

The National Planning Meeting to plan the upcoming NOAC was held at Colorado State University, Fort Collins. Jeff Herrmann, Shinnecock Lodge, Medford, New York was elected the new National Chief and Larry Brown, Wiatava Lodge, Santa Ana, California was elected National Vice Chief.
