NOAC 2004

For the eighth conference in a row, the number of Arrowmen exceeded 6,000 as 6,504 delegates and staff attended NOAC 2004. The Order of the Arrow returned for a second time to the site of the 1998 NOAC, Iowa State University in Ames. The conference theme "Chosen to serve, Inspired to lead" was featured throughout the meeting. The 2004 NOAC Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Carl M. Marchetti, MD, personified this theme.


2003 National Planning Meeting

The 2003 National Planning Meeting was held at the end of the year in Dallas, Texas. With a NOAC set for the summer, planning the conference was the top priority of the meeting. In the much-anticipated national officer elections Jeff Hayward from Tetonwana Lodge, Pierre, South Dakota was elected National Chief. David Dowty was elected National Vice Chief. David became the first national officer elected from an overseas lodge.

First Indian Summer

The 2003 OA Indian Summer took place in August 2003 at the Ridgecrest Conference Center near Ashville, North Carolina. Indian Summer was designed to help strengthen Arrowmen’s understanding of the American Indian culture and the relationship it has in OA ceremonies.

2002 DSA Recipients

The Distinguished Service Award (DSA) is presented to those Arrowmen who have rendered distinguished and outstanding service to the Order on a sectional, regional, or national basis. The following were presented the DSA at the 2002 National Order of the Arrow Conference - Dominique F. Baker, Justin P. Boren, Patrick S. Boyd, Steven D. Bradley, James Houston Cheatham, Kenneth L. Connelly, Michael Devlin Cooper, Don Cunningham, Donald G. Diaz, Joshua G. Gana, Carl E. Head II, David B. Heaton, Chad F. Heflin, Jordan A. Hitchens, Mark F.

NOAC 2002

For the ninth time the OA returned to Indiana University, Bloomington for the National Conference. The 2002 Conference was the second largest meeting thus far, with 6,939 Arrowmen. The Theme for the NOAC was "Test Yourself, and So Discover".

2001 National Planning Meeting

The National Planning Meeting was held in Dallas, Texas with the principal task for the Section Chiefs of planning the 2002 NOAC scheduled for the Indiana University.

Arrowman Service Award

The Arrowman Service Award was an active Order of the Arrow (OA) award from 2001 through 2003. The purpose of the award was to increase service to the Boy Scouts of America by Arrowmen.

2000 National Planning Meeting

The highlight of the 2000 National Planning Meeting was the national officer elections. Don Cunningham from Susquehannock Lodge, Dillsburg, Pennsylvania was elected the National Chief and Scott Hunter from Tatokainyanka Lodge, Casper, Wyoming was elected National Vice Chief. Region Chiefs elected were: Dominique Baker – Central Region, Jason Kemp – Southern Region, Patrick Boyd – Northeast Region and Josh Gana – Western Region.
